Obsidian Solutions Group, a leading professional services firm serving the Federal government, was recognized as the #2 Technology, Information and Research industry Adoption-Friendly Workplace by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, America’s only nonprofit public charity dedicated to finding homes for children in foster care. Additionally, Obsidian Solutions Group will be recognized as #26 overall in the United States, #10 nationally in the medium-size ranking, and featured on the Foster Care Benefits list.
Since 2007, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has compiled an annual list of the top adoption-friendly workplaces. Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces are determined by an analysis of financial assistance and paid leave for families who adopt, based on surveys completed by employers. Break-out lists are available noting America’s top 100 adoption-friendly employers, the top 10 by size, and the leaders in each industry. “As the founders of Obsidian Solutions Group, it was vitally important to us that we create an organization with a social conscience. Part of that includes a commitment to those most vulnerable within our society — children. Adoption and support for employees who both foster and/or adopt is deeply important to our culture, our employees, and the communities that we serve,” said James Wiley, President.
Obsidian Solutions Group offers adoption benefits to team members who have been with Obsidian for at least one year. The benefit covers up to $12,500 reimbursement for eligible expenses and provides for a week of paid leave for adoptive and foster parents.
“We’re committed to dramatically increasing the number of adoptions from foster care, and commend all employers who support families – especially those that grow their families through adoption,” said Rita Soronen, president and CEO of the Foundation. “We are so grateful to every company that has adoption-friendly benefits in place, and we’re honored to recognize them as an Adoption-Friendly Workplace.”
